Hello fellow animal lovers! My husband, Nelson, and I have been in love with animals our whole lives and have always had a remarkable bond with all animals, especially dogs. We truly believe that all forms of life deserve the same love and respect that any human being deserves. That is why we are long-time animal advocates, which led us to become Australian Labradoodle breeders. Our desire to breed comes not only from a passion for dogs but also from a calling to 'do it right.' After witnessing so many bad breeders who focus on breeding Labradoodle puppies solely for profit and not for the welfare of the dogs, we were devastated. The large dog breeding operations, often referred to as puppy mills, have become popular online and are ruining the health and spirit of dog breeds. Unfortunately, when there is money to be made, some people will take advantage of the situation. It is our responsibility to avoid supporting these types of breeders because doing so means supporting animal cruelty and a life of suffering. We recognized the demand for responsible, caring, and dedicated Australian Labradoodle breeders. Our breeding program focuses on honesty and transparency. We openly share the ages of our breeding dogs, ensuring that our breeding females have only 2-3 litters and are typically spayed by the age of four. Our decision to start our breeding program as an Australian Labradoodle breeder came very naturally to me, as I take pride in being maternal, nurturing, and compassionate. Growing up, my favorite place was always the pet store; just being around animals made me happy, and I had my own little farm with all kinds of domesticated animals.
Before my husband and I committed to breeding California Labradoodle puppies, we thoroughly studied the science of dog breeding. We were fascinated by the vast genetic diversity among dog breeds and the process of selecting specific traits to achieve desired attributes. The Australian Labradoodle particularly intrigued us; one of the reasons this breed is so healthy is due to the careful infusion of foundation breeds (Labrador, Poodle, and Cocker Spaniel) into certain lines, ensuring genetic diversity. In 2007, we decided to turn our fascination into action and began searching for our first breeding dogs. We chose the Australian Labradoodle because they are the perfect medium-sized dog that does not shed and is allergy-friendly—especially important since my husband has asthma and mild allergies to pet dander. We also loved their calm, loving temperament and trainability. During our search, we were amazed by all the positive feedback about Australian Labradoodle puppies, a true service breed. Honestly, it sounded too good to be true.
We began absorbing everything we could about the history, health, temperament, breed standards, body conformation, and anything else we could find out about the Australian Labradoodle. After a whole lot of research, we found our first Australian Labradoodle, Carmella, who gave us our precious Sophie and Delilah, and well... the rest is history! As a dedicated Australian Labradoodle breeder, we have honed in on creating a consistent temperament and certain qualities that are admired in the breed, such as coat quality, deep coloring, and a blocky build. We began our breeding program while I was in college studying nursing. After graduating with my bachelor’s in nursing, I started working as a registered nurse in 2013, primarily in long-term care and administrative roles. Now, I work from home as a Telephonic Nurse Case Manager, collaborating with my husband Nelson. Together, we manage the ins and outs of our Australian Labradoodle breeding program. My husband has over 20 years of experience in managing an auto repair business, and now he handles most of the communications with our California Labradoodle puppies buyers and guardian homes. We both cherish being home full-time, dedicating our time to our young daughter, our small organic farm, and our breeding program. Our daughter, Sage, has inherited our passion for animals; she lives, breathes, and dreams about Labradoodle puppies and eagerly helps with the daily socializing of our pups, even throwing the ball for all her furry friends.
We reside in sunny Northern California, in Calaveras County, on 5 acres of beautiful countryside in Valley Springs (also known as Gold Country). Our little farm is home to chickens, goats, cats, and a small organic garden, along with fruit trees. Labradoodle Story Tails is a family-run business and would not be possible without the loving support of our guardian homes, which have truly become an extension of our family.
We also work closely with our vet in Lockeford, CA, who has provided wonderful care to our dogs and puppies for well over a decade, ensuring that our Labradoodle puppies for sale receive the best possible treatment.

We feel so blessed to have such wonderful dogs in our lives. We feed only the most nutritious food to our mommies to be, conservatively supplementing them with vitamins (Oxy Mate from Breeder's Edge/beef liver) to ensure optimal health for developing puppies.
